How did Josie get her name?

We are often asked how we chose the name Josephine Amelia so here's the story...

Christy has had a boy's name picked out since she was about 13. That name has her initials(C.M.). So Jon decided that if we had a girl, she should have his initials (J.A.). We wanted to be able to call her Jo or Joey. We kind of liked the name Jordan but that has become too common so we eliminated it. We finally came up with Josephine. We could lie and say that we got the idea for that name from Louisa May Alcott's Little Women (because that sounds more noble), but really Josephine is a character on each of our favorite TV shows at the time ("La Femme Nikita" for Jon and "Dawson's Creek" for Christy). We intended to use Jo or Joey as her nickname but right after she was born, Christy decided that she wasn't a tomboy yet and so we call her Josie. It seems to fit her very well so far. As for the Amelia, we just liked that name and how it sounded with Josephine. We probably thought of it because of Amelia Earhart.
